bring it on home.

In light of me not being able to buy a house for another 6-8 months I decided to move in with some great friends of mine. The situation is ideal...aside from the 400 square feet living space verses my current 900 square feet. Luckily there's a great resource for such a problem on Urban Barn's website. Now let's just hope my measuring skills weren't off and that everything fits just as I planned. Of course the kitchen isn't planned out, that's the only thing I can't move. Now with this out of the way I can go full force into packing, donating, and getting some of my things into storage.

These are on the list of food to make for Thanksgiving and also my first attempt at sweet potatoes. There's always a first time for everything. YUM!

For the Love of Cooking: Roasted Sweet Potatoes: If you read my blog you know that I love roasting vegetables. I decided to roast sweet potatoes with butter, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown suga...

because.

Beyonce is one of my secret indulgences. She's a fantastic role model and is truly an inspiration.

oh so wicked.

I took my sister to see Wicked for her 25th birthday...let's just say I might have been more excited. We snuck these photos...AH!! Their costumes were incredible, they sang their hearts out, and the set was ridiculous! Oh and did I mention our seats ended up being FRONT ROW?! Wicked.

oh baby.

My best friend is due in January with her second child. I'm so excited for the baby to get here (she's keeping the sex from me as a form of torture). Her shower is this Sunday and we went with the ever so cute theme (and my favorite animal) the elephant. I designed the invitations and the decorations are well on their way. We only picked one game, but I probably shouldn't give out too many details as we have some cheaters that might try to write the answers on their arms, or perhaps on rubber bands around their wrists like we did in junior high. We are going to have a color station where you draw a letter from the alphabet and draw an object according to the letter you receive. After the shower I'm going to create a book of the drawings for Baby C.
All this baby talk makes me even more excited to go to California and see both my cousin's sons. My 2011 baby statistics are as follows: 2 girls 9 boys Pending: 1 girl 2 boys

home is where you are.

Almost directly behind my family's farm there's this amazing cemetery that I really enjoy visiting. There are a few new headstones but most of them are very well aged. This first photo is some random marker at Poe Hollow's trail. Oh how I love being in the country.

look over here.

Julian is a spunky little man that loves to giggle and thinks calling me Katy Jo is so hilarious! He was so much fun to shoot and he did an amazing job-he even snapped a shot of me because he was so fascinated by my camera.

i love food.

This makes me so sad. We have people that are starving in America and we're wasting government funding on this. So sad.
