do re mi.

I love a flash mob as much as the next girl...ok, maybe a little more than the next girl. I particularly enjoy this one because of the music and how much fun every one is having. I want to flash mob at work tomorrow. Whose in?

i need fuel to take flight.

you say it best.

Sometimes I don't have the right words, so I use other people's. Perhaps it's my age, but I have been doing a lot of searching lately. Whatever the reasoning behind it these are a few words of wisdom I've been taking to heart.

come on over baby.

My niece and nephew came over yesterday and we planted cucumber and then dug holes. Good times at Aunt Katy's place.

let it grow.

I went out to the garden the other day to discover the almighty corn protector. I think he's a fairly larger garter snake, but hopefully he'll keep away the bunnies and squirrels. I also saw the wonderful zucchini had popped up as well-it's amazing what can happen over night.

bacon lettuce and tomato.

I love BLTs. A little berry honey bread, turkey bacon, spring lettuce, and vegenaise. Oh great, now my mouths watering.

that's some good stuff.

Last week I made bird for my local hummingbirds since my wild flowers haven't bloomed yet. It's the easiest recipe ever...2 to 1 ratio. 2 cups of water and 1 cup sugar or 1 cup water and 1/2 cup of sugar. I hope they're enjoying it!

so what you're saying is.

I need to buy a farm? Good, that was the plan any way. Or at least some thing on an acreage. Enough space to have a garden and some chickens. If I get super ambitious some day I'll get a cow and pig as well. Big dreams are brewing over here!
I found this wonderful link on Progressive Pioneer, one of my new favorite blogs!

This song is amazing. There's no better word for it...yum. Maybe that's better?

gotta fight fight fight for iowa.

Oh how I love to tie dye. I only did men's larges and xl this time around because I got so many t-shirts, but next time I will get around to more of a mixture. This was originally a work project that ended up in no one but my boss and I being interested in. I sure did have fun tho!!! And it really does look like a Hawkeye fan threw up in my back yard....damned tailgaters.

april showers brought may flowers.

And FINALLY some warm weather. The past two days in Iowa have been heavenly...really, there's no better word for it. Yesterday I accomplished so much that I scared myself a little. Weeding, watering, planting, raking, tie dying, cleaning, laundry. It really should go down in the record book of days I actually accomplished some thing worth a damn. So yesterday also brought photos of my progress and my ever growing life. Found my first tomato sprout this morning which was quite the surprise to an extra muggy day. All in all my days off this week have been fantastically productive.

I had to repot this beauty, because in the month I've had her she's been bustin' out of the pot she came in. I wouldn't mind if she got so big she busted out of this pot either...but I like my ladies with a little meat on their bones.

And lastly I stopped at the 50th St. Palmer's Deli before heading to The Art Store for my dye. I love picnics in my own backyard.
